Hey Guys so today I’m going to switch it up. Instead of reviewing a well know movie today I thought I should do a little review on student movie that I saw that I thought was really so good and that it should be seen. That short movie is called Another Night by Trisha Smith. It’s based off of one of Trisha’s events that her and her friend use to do. (except for the zombies showing up) The video was put together really nicely.
I also have to say that I absolutely loved the grandfather ( played by her real grandfather) in this short film. He is really funny and I loved the plot of it. It kind of reminds me of Buffy but instead with zombies of course!.
Hey guys and girls! For my Multimedia class I decided to do a interview with two people Trisha Smith a Point Park student and Victoria Smith a Art Institute graduate (no relation). These two have done student related films. and This is what inspires them to do some of their films. SO please tell me what you think and enjoy!
Man I love that show
Let’s give a thanks to IMDb without it where would movie lovers be. How would we know if that’s the same actress/actor from a movie/tv show that we saw a long time ago. Without IMDb we wouldn’t know the name of the actor that played that very sexy cop on Southland or what other movies were he/she in so we could watch those too. The site even tells you what movies/tv shows they are going to be.(Score!) IMDb gives us information that we would have never knew about either. Did you know Scott Weinger who voiced Disney’s Aladdin played Steve, D.J.Tanner’s boyfriend on Full House!? (I knew that but I bet some people didn’t) and without IMDb I wouldn’t know the names of certain actors/actress in a television show so I want to thank you IMDb for everything.
Here’s some backstory, Internet Movie Database Site also known to the world as IMDb,was founded by it’s CEO Colin Needham from England in 1990. At that time he was a engineer in Bristol. It was said that when Needlham was in college (around 1989 before the internet was popular) he watched a lot of movies. He could however never remember/keep track of which movies he seen already. So he decided to make a personal log for himself and to also give to his friends when they go rent movies. His idea became more popular when he joined a college movie dissuasion group. Where the main members were college guys who discussed mostly who was hottest actress in movies and which movies they also in. (You can find more about this Article here) Also Robert Hartill a web designer and computer programmer also helped create a interface of the Internet Movie Database. He first started creating a design in 1994 while he was still attending Cardiff University in Wales. The first interface of IMDb was called Cardiff Internet Movie Database. It wasn’t till 1996 that the company became separate giving it the name that we know today. You can also say Hartill is one of the first to make the World Wide Web popular today. In 1998 Amazon brought IMDb.
I have a long list of movies ( and tv shows) that I would love to watch and Pretty Persuasion was one of the top ones. To warn you guys this is a rated R movies (sorry kids). I saw a lot of gifs about this movie on tumblr so I thought what the heck lets give this a try and to tell you the truth I’m kind of sad that I actually did. The movie is about a 15 year old girl named Kimberly Joyce played by Evan Rachel Wood who wants to make it big. She’ll do anything for fame even if that means throwing her two best friends Brittany( Elisabeth Harnois) and Randa ( Adi Schnall) under a bus and making them lie with you to frame a teacher for sexual assault.
It did have it’s funny moments in the movie but then the ending could have been a little more clearer to me. Also it just surprises me that a 15 year old girl could be such a ruthless mastermind. What also surprised me with how much sex is involved in these preteen’s lives. I would have to say that the most funniest character to me had to be Holly Klein ( Jane Krakowski ) I don’t know why though I guess because I laughed more at her lines and also she makes a great “reporter”. Except for Randa who asked questions that to her was serious but to her american classmates it was common sense. I would give this movie a 3 out 5 because there is a hidden meaning in the movie and I’m guessing that Fame isn’t everything it’s hyped up to.
Steve Carell and Steve Buscemi as Burt and Anton
I’ve been seeing commercials for this upcoming movie for a while now. It just came out in theaters as of today! and Just by looking at the promos for The Incredible Burt Wonderstone I could say this looks like this could be a very funny movie. Let’s start off with this amazing cast. It seems like the producers picked the best of the best and the funniest of all the funniest comedians.
The movie is about two magicians Burt Wonderstone played by Steve Carell and Anton Marvelton played by Steve Buscemi who felt like they were on top of the world with their classical magic acts. They may have been on top of the world like twenty years ago. While their acts are getting old a new modern day magician named Steve Gray played by Jim Carrey is making a scene with crazy stunts that people are loving. So Burt get’s help from the person that made him start loving Magic in the first place, the magician Rance Holloway played by Alan Arkin to come up with crazy stunts of their own to hopefully get back their fame. Can they do it? From what I’m seeing from the promo I would give it a 4 out of 5. I would give it all 5 points but hey I haven’t seen it yet. It wouldn’t be fair to the movies I have already seen.
Here’s the four leading men:
A very funny guy I would say best known for playing Michael Scott on the Office. He’s playing Burt Wonderstone a man who lived for magic since he was little when he got his first magic kit to be just like Rance. But since him and his child hood friend Anton’s magic career is going down hill Burt tries to think of crazy stunts to get their fame back.
This comedian got his first shot on In living color. He plays Steve Grey, A new popular up and coming magian who does crazy stunts that are taking over the world. One of his stunts is holding his pee for more then a human should. It’s funny because his character reminds me so much of Criss Angel.
Best known for some of his roll’s in the Cohen brother’s films. Steve plays Anton Marvelton Burt’s best friend and his magic sidekick.
Is a famous singer, producer and author etc. He plays Rance Holloway Burt’s childhood hero in the magic world.
Roxanne is pleases indeed
First things first I hope everyone that did have a spring break had a very good one. And everyone that’s having a spring break coming up all I have have to say is lucky duck.
So over the break I re-watched The Goofy Movie. Hmmm what can I say about The Goofy Movie…other then this is one of my all time favorite movies!!
The movie is about Maximilian(Max) Goof also known to the world Goofy’s son. Who wants to win the heart of his high school dream girl Roxanne. He knows he has what it takes to get the girl but his only fear is he doesn’t want to be a goof like his dad. So he kind of tells a little lie..well maybe a super huge lie if you count telling a girl that your dad knows Powerline one of the biggest singers of their time and that you will be on stage with him a big lie. Anyway Max messes with goofy’s map to actually lead them to where Powerline’s show is being held. When Goofy finds out the trip turns into a trip that both son and father will never forget.
I would give this movie a 4 out 5 because I love the music and the story line. I also love how they kept the cartoon into a real life situation with a teenage son who thinks his father is so uncool and that he’s nothing like him. To a father who doesn’t want his son to go down a wrong path. I feel like everyone should watch this movie it’s a must see. The only down side is they should have made a story line of what happened to Roxanne and Max because after this movie Roxanne is never to be mentioned again.
Hey guys it’s spring break! So this week the blog will get some R&R. I hope you guys have a awesome spring break and I will be back blogging more next week! so please stay tuned for more movie reviews.
